Activating the baitrunner lever puts the reel into freespool, paying out line after a bite until you are ready to make the strike. The XT-7 spool has Varispeed for better line lay and casting accuracy, built-in Dyna Balance to reduce vibration, and Power Roller gears to reduce line twist on the retrieve.
